HLOG Q&A Update with Ellie

Today's Q&A update is with Ellie, one of HLOG's Pens fan.  You can read Ellie's original Q&A here.  Enjoy!

1. What are you up to these days? Still blogging (provide your blog name and link)? Why or why not?
No longer blogging. I never wanted my own hockey blog since I knew I'd never keep up with it. But HLOG was a nice way to share of my thoughts/views on Pens hockey.

2. Have you changed team allegiances, or are you still in love with the team you represented on HLOG?
Wow no way!! Pens fan for life!!

3. How do you feel about your team this year?
Good. There were some bumps in the beginning, but things are really starting to come together especially after the win streak and Crosby's point streak. Lots of Winter Classic excitement lately, not to mention the HBO series (24/7 Penguins/Capitals: Road to the Winter Classic)   It will be interesting to see if we can keep the momentum going into the spring and playoffs.

4. Who is your favorite player now?
Crosby's point streak has been amazing. Say what you want about Sid, but he's always raising the bar. In fact, if you still think Sid is still a whiny crybaby, try to come around. This guy is playing some of the best hockey you'll ever see in your life. Enjoy!

Kris Letang has really come into his own this year and is leading the NHL All Star defensemen votes - all write in votes btw! As for other teams, how bout Philly's new goalie Bobrovsky? Flash in the pan maybe, but he's been fun to watch for sure.

5. Are we too old to use the term SQUEE?
Umm no!!

6. Do you feel that the role of the female fan in keeping the game alive or picking heroes in the community has changed any since you were on HLOG?
There was such a collective sigh of relief in Pittsburgh after the Pens won the Cup two years ago. I'd say between the Cup win and the new arena (Consol Energy Center), the public has become even more infatuated with their local hockey heroes. The challenge will be to rinse and repeat before the cap era takes it's toll and someone gets traded.

7. Hockey just isn’t the same without Mario?! There is going to be an "Old Timers" game here before the Winter Classic. It's amazing how much the Pittsburgh fan base is looking forward to it. Anything to see Le Magnifique make another return to the ice!

8. Favorite HLOG memory?
Gotta go with the Christmas cards :)

9. How do you feel the blog community has changed since our HLOG days?
Lots of hockey tweeting since the HLOG days! Which has been a very fun way to watch games and get reactions from fans instantly. Blogging is still very relevant however - I'm still reading all of my favs.

10. Have you reached any milestones in the last few years, personally, that you’re willing to share with us all? Do you have any upcoming milestones in the foreseeable future? (ahem, wedding? baby? book deal? etc?)
Three years out of college and still working - which I guess is somewhat of an accomplishment in this economy!
