Bitten by a Nasty Bug

We have been extremely lucky to be free from the injury bug for the most part this year. We had one major injury at the start of the season with Z and his broken hand (thank goodness the lil iron man healed quickly). Unlike last season when it seemed like we lost a prominent player every game for a few weeks.

Well our luck has finally run out. We been hit. Good fortune is that we called up Keith Yandle for the start of this road trip giving us 7 defensemen. Jonesy sat most of the Islander game after a high shoulder hit (Jonesy could be seen on the bench manipulating his jaw and nose) it may be that the hit did more damage than first thought as Yandle is slated to play on Saturday against the Devils.

Most of you know Craig Weller has been riding the pine for a couple of games due to a concussion. We thought he’d be back during this road trip but…maybe not. Joel Perrault has been called up to join the big club and is also slated to play in the game against the Devils on Saturday.

Hopefully both youngsters will give fine performances. Yandle is a very offense minded Dman and may be able to spark some life into our point listing blue line. While Perrault has been having a hey day down in San Antonio on the point sheet.

Stay tuned as the Yotes try to get back in the win column against the Devils and the Rangers right afterwards.
