Friday Five, April 20

Jordi and I came up with these together in the depths of darkness for her and the bright morning light for me so pardon the insanity. Ah, screw it. Don't pardon it. It's playoffs.

  1. What supplies would you take with you to start a new colony in space?
  2. What's in your sandwich filling?
  3. Where is your happy place, real or imaginary?
  4. Which colours suits spring?
  5. What favourite dance scene from a movie do you dance along with?
Okay, I'm posting this before Jordi and I start fighting.

First off, flame on, Flames! I need you to pull it off for my pool. Plus I'd rather keep watching Iggy than Dom.

1. Lots of potatoes and plenty of reading material. Someone else will have to take care of the necessities.
2. Peanut butter and jelly.
3. Bedroom in flannel pants, an old, t-shirt, tons of blankets, and a good book.
4. Green and blue.
5. "Moses Supposes" from Singin' in the Rain. It's ridiculous because I do not tap dance. But I can't sit down and watch it.

1. Pipe cleaners, peanut M&Ms and Post-it flags.

2. Grilled chicken, brie, caramelized onions and bacon. (Mmmmm.... artery buster!)

3. Happy place: Ensconced on our couch, wearing flannel pajama pants and doing a Saturday NYT crossword puzzle with a glass of wine and hockey on the TV.

4. Spring is suited with Stanley Cup Silver, and red and black.

5. We are not ever inclined to dance, so we can't say we dance along with any scene from a movie. That said, we reference 'The French Mistake' from 'Blazing Saddles' a lot during hockey games.

1. Seriously? Something to convert air to usable water, canned food, electronics...etc. Not seriously? My collection of James Herriot.

2. I just ate a PB and J, but I'd love a turkey club.

3. Home, either in my bathtub with a trashy novel and a glass of wine or sitting curled up in a chair with a cup of tea.

4. Green and brown

5. The ending song from 'Dirty Dancing' makes me want to get up.

1. TV, Hockey, Hockey Players, Ice, Ice Skates...think that about does it, oh, maybe romance novels.

2. Me, between Dustin Penner on one side and Sean O'Donnell on the other. Oh, that's not the kinda sandwich you're talking about is it? Ah, Chicken or Turkey, Mayo, Mustard, Avo.

3. The Beach, my favorite is Newport. The salt in the air, the sound of the waves crashing. Love it. Honda Center comes in at a close second!!!

4. Pink, love it!!

5. That last dance scene in Dirty Dancing. Love the song, love the dancing.

1) Absolutely nothing. My ass is not leaving this planet. I'll stay here and die in the appocalypse thanks. Failing that, lots of ductape.

2) Lettuce and cheese.

3) In front of my computer, typing away at one of my novels, on a roll with a beer in front of me.

4) Pink (of course! It suits every season), Green, Blue, and Yellow.

5) The Oompa Loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Plus a lot of the cheerleading dances in the Bring it On Franchise.

1. Alexander Ovechkin. What more do you need?

2. Depends on my mood - either tomato mozzarella and basil or PB&J. Fluffernutters are my weepy, mopey, my team sucks sandwiches.

3. Washington, DC...except when the tourists and lobbyists invade. Then it's just anywhere my family and friends are. (Ready? Altogether now: AWWWWWWW)

4. Green.

5. Either the last scene in Footloose or just about any scene in Grease.

1. Yarn and knitting needles, 'cause string and pointy sticks can always come in handy.

2. Turkey and an olive salad or tapanade.

3. Flannal pajamas, knitting with hockey on the T.V. Or wandering about North Beach.

4. Green and yellow.

5. Uh, none. I'm too reserved to do stuff like that.

I love James Herriot. :)

Oh Capschick - you stole my answer! And here I was trying to convince HG of how you can answer each question with a name!

1. Jordan Staal, music, books and some movies to watch. When I'm hungry I eat him! Hah!

2. Oh lord, grilled pumpkin, eggplant, sundried tomatoes and all the things I love. And swiss cheese. There's also the ahem goalie sandwich but that's another time.

3. Um, um, um, somewhere quiet.

4. Mine is red. Yep red.

5. The Jet song from West Side Story!

5. The famous dance scene from Dirty Dancing.
