- peppermint mocha or zebra mocha from starbucks
- no sox
- um... last book... um... "simply irresistible" by rachel gibson, i believe (with a hockey hero!)
- canada, someplace where there ARE woods. hahaha...
1. I have no idea. Something weird though, that someone would see and go "whoa"...but not scary, so they don't go "whoa" and run away. Maybe one of those abstract pieces that I don't understand, with primary colours and shapes and random lines that look like they came from an elementary school classroom.
2. Steeped tea with milk and sugar at Tim Hortons.
3. No, my feet spend all day in captivity and they need to breathe.
4. I've been sitting here unsuccessfully trying to remember the name of the book I last finished, so...I'm currently in the process of working through Music for Chameleons by Truman Capote.
5. A municipal park. I'm a city girl and I find real nature disconcerting.
1. If you could spend money on a piece of art, what or whose would you buy? hmm...cliched as it is, probably a monet...I am a sucker for his stuff!
2. What is your favourite drink from the coffee shop? iced venti nonfat caramel macchiato
3. Do you wear socks to bed?
never
4. What is the last book you read cover-to-cover for fun? I never get to the end of anything...my attention span is too short...but I got about halfway thru the game
5. If you were struck by the sudden need to go for a walk in the woods, where would you go? Well, since “the woods” indicates that I would be outside, it is highly unlikely that this would happen. But if I had to, somewhere in my childhood neighborhood, since I know those pretty well.
1. Hands down it would be anything by Yoshitomo Nara.
2. Well, I recently taught myself to make lattes at home on our ridiculous coffee machine but enjoy a cappuccino on the side of a scrumptious dessert.
3. Sometimes. I have a pair of super fuzzy pink ones that are like wearing clouds if I'm cold but if not, I stick my feet out of the covers. There's no middle ground.
4. Ken Dryden's Home Game
5. I would hop in the hgcopter and fly back to my mountains in B.C. to spend the day strolling.
1. If you could spend money on a piece of art, what or whose would you buy? I'm not an art person whatsoever so I would most likely buy a photograph of something beautiful or touching.
2. What is your favourite drink from the coffee shop? I hate coffee, but I absolutely love the tall Peppermint Hot Chocolate (nonfat, no whip) at Starbucks. Yummy.
3. Do you wear socks to bed? Never have.
4. What is the last book you read cover-to-cover for fun? The last book I read was Martin Brodeur's Beyond the Crease. I'm about to start reading The Rebel League (about the WHA).
5. If you were struck by the sudden need to go for a walk in the woods, where would you go? Umm, I don't know? I don't go into the woods often or pretty much at all so I don't really know where I'd go...
1. Something of Jan Saudek's. It's photography not art but I fell in love with him when I was in the Czech Republic.
2. Black coffee. Though during October/November it's anything with pumpkin flavoring.
3. Never, I hate socks. I only wear them when I have to. Or it's freezing.
4. Truman Capote's In Cold Blood. Amazing.
5. I don't know...there aren't really any woods around here. I'd want to go somewhere bizarre or interesting, some other country or something. (I've been told I need to see mountains at some point. Maybe we could work that in.)
1. I dunno. I'd get them in a huge theme. I like anything insane but not grotesque. Additionally I love all kinds of art that appeals to me so why yes, I'd buy everything.
2. The hot chocolate with marshmallows!
3. Oh in winter it's fun but I always kick them off accidentally.
4. Terry Pratchett's Night Watch. I like his books but I never took off as a fantasy reader.
5. No snakes, spiders and whatnot and it's all good.
1. Do you mean an original piece of art rather than a print? Hmmm, probably black and white photography or a Steinlen ad.
2. double shot 12 ounce latte
3. Only until my feet warm up. Then I take them off because I can't actually sleep with socks on.
4. I read Chasing Stanley. And just before that, Christopher Moore's You Suck (highly recommend Moore to anyone who likes bizarre humor).
5. The UC Santa Cruz campus. It's a little city in a forest. I miss it.
-Monet, one of the water lilies and bridges ones
-Coffee...or a mocha latte
-If I'm bitterly cold
-'Blue Moon' by Laurell K. Hamiliton. I needed something easy on my brain
-My hometown
If you could spend money on a piece of art, what or whose would you buy?
A Frederick Remington statue. I saw one of his pieces in the local museum when I was a kid and I was fascinated by it. I love the whole Wild West thing with the cowboys and the horses so his work is right up my alley.
What is your favourite drink from the coffee shop?
I don't do coffee, but I do enjoy Starbuck's mint chocolate frappucinos.
Do you wear socks to bed?
In the spring, summer, and fall, no. I don't wear shoes or socks unless it's necessary. In the Buffalo winter, heck yeah. Big, awesome wooly socks.
What is the last book you read cover-to-cover for fun?
Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares. (Loved it.)
If you were struck by the sudden need to go for a walk in the woods, where would you go?
To... the woods? If I could get to my mom's, I'd walk beyond our backyard which was a huge, uncleared area of land. Around here, I dunno.
1. If you could spend money on a piece of art, what or whose would you buy?
miss doxie's.
2. What is your favourite drink from the coffee shop?
coffee. straight up coffee.
3. Do you wear socks to bed?
if it's really cold.
4. What is the last book you read cover-to-cover for fun?
i read all books for fun. (yay no more school!) but the last one i finished was "cracked ice" by stan fischler.
5. If you were struck by the sudden need to go for a walk in the woods, where would you go?
there are no woods around here, so it would take some serious wanting and some serious planning. but probably canada. because i've walked through american woods, and i wasn't impressed. maybe canadian trees are different. ;)
- Not a clue, I have never really been into art.
- Zebra Hot Chocolate
- Sometimes, if it is really cold.
- Chasing Stanley, bu Deirdre Martin
- Are there woods in Southern California. Guess I would have to go up North, either to another state or Canada
Better late than never!
1. I'm so not an art person. So it would probably be something Ansel Adams cuz I do love photos.
2. Skinny latte
3. Not regularly, unless I'm moisturizing or it's below zero and I'm freezing.
4. 'Lovely Bones' by Alice Seabold. Wonderful book.
5. Mt. Sanitas trail in Boulder (about 5 minutes from my house)
"Are there woods in Southern California. Guess I would have to go up North, either to another state or Canada"
You don't need to go that far. There are plenty of woods in Norther California.
1. I'd buy "The Birth of Venus" by Botticelli
2. I hate coffee so I usually indulge my sweet tooth in a muffin or something.
3. I'm always cold so I usually wear socks.
4. Not sure about the woods, but I like the beaches in California so I'd spend a day walking those.
Soooo it's totally not Friday anymore but here it is:
1. If you could spend money on a piece of art, what or whose would you buy?
Wow, a bunch. I love contemporary photography so probably something along those lines.
2. What is your favourite drink from the coffee shop?
Irish Cream coffee or a nice hot mocha! I pretty much can't live without coffee either so I try not to be particular, haha.
3. Do you wear socks to bed?
Not usually. When our heater was broken and it was 8 degrees in the house I most certainly did though.
4. What is the last book you read cover-to-cover for fun?
"Hey! Nostradamus" by Douglas Coupland. I couldn't put it down.
5. If you were struck by the sudden need to go for a walk in the woods, where would you go?
The woods in Owen Sound are beautiful and you'd probably happen upon a waterfall as well. So definitely there.
5. A municipal park. I'm a city girl and I find real nature disconcerting.
HAHA! Nature can be ver disconcerting indeed.
Hey, don't make fun...I'm very concerned for my personal safety. The most vicious animal you'll find at a park is a squirrel, and there's no danger of getting stranded in the wilderness or something.
1. If you could spend money on a piece of art, what or whose would you buy?
I think probably something more modern looking...not really sure what or whose...but yes definitely something modern
2. What is your favourite drink from the coffee shop?
White Chocolate Mocha!
3. Do you wear socks to bed?
No....never
4. What is the last book you read cover-to-cover for fun?
The Boys of Winter
5. If you were struck by the sudden need to go for a walk in the woods, where would you go?
There is woods not even a mile from my house so I would go there...
