It was announced today that Rick Nash is now the Captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets. This is definitely the best thing that has happened to this franchise in a long time. It's time for Rick Nash to step up. It's time for Rick Nash to lead the way. He can do it, but he's certainly not going to do it alone. We have other veterans to help. Michael Peca, Freddy Mo, David Vyborny, they can help too. This is seriously amazing news for our franchise. I know I'm not the only one happy about it. But, Rick, he can do it, I have all the faith in the world, and I am happy to have him as my Captain. Here is a video of the press conference, Hitch looks unbelievably happy. GO JACKETS!

I'm into it. Rick Nash is cool.
Did they have a captain that he replaced, or were they like the Rangers of two seasons ago that had 3 guys marked as alternate captains who shared the responsibility?
Cat~I'm into it too!!
Lucky13~Our old Captain, Adam Foote was traded at the deadline, and we waited a few days before naming Nasher the Cappy.
...And we totally beat you yesterday! Mwhahaha! J/k, J/k. Nash got a goal which was pretty sweet...and we don't even have a captain. :P
Amy, yes you did beat us. Why no Captain? That is lame. ;)
I don't know honestly. We have three alternates...I guess Denis Savard can't decide.
