1.) How do you feel about umbrella use?
If I did my hair (straightened) then it's a must. My hair wet equals curls and the afro is not a good look for me.
2.) What is your favorite video game of all time?
Ms. PacMan... if arcade games are considered video games... lol. I don't know why. Just because she was a kick ass broad.
3.) What was the best thing you ate over the holiday season?
Nothing, really. We didn't do holidays much this year.
4.) Do you own a Nalgene bottle? If so, how many?
No.
5.) What was your favorite gift that you recieved this past holiday season? (Or ever if you feel so inclined)
This year, One Tree Hill Season 4. Yes, I love that show. LOL!
Ever -- erm... my piano.
1. I don't know where I find them, but I usually end up with some cheap ass umbrella that won't stand up to the wind. But I carry one in my purse anyway.
2. Zeldaaaaaaaaaa : )
3. The food wasn't as good this year as it usually is. And my mom didn't make my favorite cookies.
4. I gave up on Nalgenes after reading about how bad the plastic is for you. I got a nice metal water bottle at Target and it keeps my water colder too : )
5. I got a little dock for my Zune. It connects to the TV and has a little remote. Love it!
1.) People out here make fun of my for it, but I don't like rain.
2.) Mario Kart! (Either that or Mario Party)
3.) Everything. It was great to be back in the Midwest and have all my cream based sauces and not even see any seafood.
4.) Yes, yes I do. 7 of them I think.
5.) I got a Ron and Don mug. Ever would probably be the year I got a snowboard.
Yay! Friday Five!
1. Only if it's pouring.
2. Either Dr. Mario (Old Nintendo) or Super Mario Kart (Super NES)...although, Beautiful Katamari is slowly getting up there.
3. Gee I don't know. Everything always tastes good when I don't have to cook.
4. I have two: yellow and purple. Although, now I don't use them nearly as often as I did when I was in college.
5. Hmm...maybe the Kings jersey I got two Xmas's ago.
ellie, I think it's only the bottled water (like Evian, Aquafina, etc) whose plastic is bad for you. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to reuse those, but the Nalgenes (and the off brand ones) are supposedly safe...I think. Anyone else know?
1. I use an umbrella when I wear my glasses because I don't like drops obscuring my vision. It makes me sad.
2. Tetris 'cause I can play it one handed!
3. Kalamata olive tapenade that I made myself. I'm addicted to the stuff now.
4. I have one but I stopped using it. They are made out of polycarbonate plastic which can leak a substance linked to cancers and other chromosomal abnormalities. I take a glass bottle to work instead.
5. A pair or Skechers. They are black with a grey herringbone pattern. I love them!
1.) Practical unless you're indoors. (Superstitious much?)
2.) Zelda, hands down! I've been playing that game since I was like 9-ish.
3.) Water chestnuts (those saucy-bacon-wrapped things). Mmmm. I'm hungry.
4.) Nope. No clue what a Nalgene bottle is, really.
5.) Hamilton Bulldog tickets (close second goes to the Kari Lehtonen autograph!)
1. Hat. Sometimes umbrella, but not often because I am lazy.
2. Xenogears. If you know this game, you are my geeky hero.
3. Sugar cookies!
4. Yes, and two.
5. Socks. Yes, I know, how nerdy...but if you've ever lived anywhere cold and had Smartwool socks, you know why this is such a big deal.
kms2: I've heard that it's the bendable, flexible plastics, not the nalgenes. They've been marketed as safe, so as far as I know... (at least, I hope to hell so, otherwise I am so screwed)
Nalgenes are really big at my college and my friend who was in Toxicology said that as long as you don't put hot liquids in them, you should be fine.
I would die without a Nalgene on me at all times. I'm weird like that.
1) Indifferent. My Gore-Tex jacket does just as well.
2) I will really date myself if I say it was for the Atari, right?
3) Cookies. Many many delicious cookies.
4) Yeah, I've only really used it a couple of times though - I usually have tea when I'm in school in my lab.
5) We were all overspent this year and didn't really give/get anything. I have gotten a pair of sai in the past though. Which rocked.
The issue with Nalgene bottles has to do with Bisphenol A (BPA). Mountain Equipment Coop has stopped selling them as a result of some research. Like many issues, there is much said on both sides of the argument(just google it). I have and still use all three of mine (one in the gym bag and one in each of my two offices).
1. Umbrella use is a great plan, however I never seem to carry an umbrella... thus I'm not a huge Umbrella user.
2. Final Fantasy X was freakin' amazing... oh, and I enjoy Guitar Hero. I want Rock Band more than life but it's so expensive.
3. Candy and Chocolate covered apples...yumm...
4. I do not own a Nalgene bottle.
5. Two things this year... I got diamond earrings which I LOVE and I finally got a Petr Prucha jersey, which I was always way too scared to invest in because when I buy a jersey bad things happen. Prucha's ALWAYS in the middle of a trade rumor. My heart can't take it. All time Christmas would have been a black lab I got when I was 6, who just passed away in August. :-(
1.) How do you feel about umbrella use? I like it, but it's a pain when the wind's blowing as well.
2.) What is your favorite video game of all time? Army Men, just because when you used the flamethrower, they melted into little plastic puddles
3.) What was the best thing you ate over the holiday season?Ummm...I don't know
4.) Do you own a Nalgene bottle? If so, how many? 3, but 2 have busted lids and one is missing from the universe right now...
5.) What was your favorite gift that you recieved this past holiday season? Best Buy gift card--that went to god headphones and season one of House
1) I don't own an umbrella, but I'd like to have one.
2) StarTropics, Mario Kart, StreetFighter II, to name a few.
3, 4, 5) don't know
1.) How do you feel about umbrella use?
If it's raining hard, then I'll use one, but generally, I won't. I love umbrellas, though.
2.) What is your favorite video game of all time?
The Final Fantasy series. I've been playing them since I was like, 7.
3.) What was the best thing you ate over the holiday season?
I had so much good food thanks to my friends. Caitlin's mom made some awesome brisket, and this Hawaiian pudding thing that was amazing. Jen's mom made turkey and mashed potatoes and everything, and it, too, was awesome.
4.) Do you own a Nalgene bottle? If so, how many?
What's Nalgene?
5.) What was your favorite gift that you recieved this past holiday season? (Or ever if you feel so inclined)
This past year, I got a few jerseys. Ever would probably be the guitar I got when I was 15...It's still in great condition and I play it alllll the time.
1. I use it if it is pouring, otherwise not.
2. Duck Hunt or the Original Mario Bros.
3. This pastry one of our clients brought in.
4. what is that?
5. My fav gift had to be my straightening iron for my hair.
1.) How do you feel about umbrella use?
I love the idea of umbrellas in rain esp b/c I have the JewFro, but living in the windy desert, they don't exactly work.
In the sun, they're a MUST.
2.) What is your favorite video game of all time?
Duck hunt
3.) What was the best thing you ate over the holiday season?
Ooh... the Hanukkah cookies were delish, but the RockyRoad Fudge was thebomb.com
4.) Do you own a Nalgene bottle? If so, how many?
6... I sang for 3 hours a day in college! H2O was a MUST. Like KMS2, I don't use them quite as often now.
(I can't believe how many people don't know what they are!)
5.) What was your favorite gift that you recieved this past holiday season? (Or ever if you feel so inclined)
McMan got me the DisneyDVD of "Robin Hood" which I had been talking about just a few days earlier.
Since I can't believe how many people don't know about Nalgenes either, I'm explaining them. Nalgene is a company that makes waterbottles that they claim are nearly indestructable. I threw mine off a tall-ass cliff with no more than a scratch. If you break yours, you send it in and they send you a free one.
