Take Michael Peca-- Please!

I've never made a secret of my dislike of Michael Peca. At first he seems okay, right? That whizz-bang style on the ice. The media-friendly soundbites. That swan-like neck that suggests he'd make a fine Jane Austen heroine. And then you look a little bit closer. Is he injured again? Really? Why do his eyes look like that? Is he taking whippets or something? Does he keep anything out of the media? Who the hell is he, Denise Richards or something? Is he going to ask Charlie Sheen for a spunk sample soon?

Well, for my many ridiculous reasons for disliking Michael Peca, I finally feel vindicated by his behavior this summer. In free agency, he has ostensibly been acting like the pretty girl in school letting it be known in study hall, with whom she would deign to attend the prom. When the Leafs didn't exactly scramble to re-sign him, Peca declared how cute he thinks Buffalo is. But Buffalo doesn't like sloppy seconds. So Peca made sex-eyes at the Islanders. But they'd been there, had that, got an itchy crotch from it. So Peca passed a note to the Rangers, bought a corsage, and waited. But not before keeping his options open by winking at the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Earth to Peca: You're not all that. Pack up your Keira Knightley neck and shut it.

So even though I am vindicated, I invite all of you to post or comment on the object of your irrational loathing. No cheating and saying Sean Avery.

No fair! You X'd out Sean Avery before I even got a chance to say mean things about him!! I might actually have to think on this one... give me a day, I'll be back. I need to think hard since I only get to pick one.

I don't get it, what's wrong with Avery? ;)

Elisha Cuthbert kms2, Elisha Cuthbert.

Ehh, I wanted to sharpie out Michael Peca on my jersey but according to a few "he was good while he lasted". Ahem. Uhm. Yeah.

It seems he likes the teams this summer with blue in their uniform. May I suggest the Blues? Thrashers?

That is definitely not irrational loathing. Peca deserves it. He reminds me of Lindros, with the prima donna attitude and not being able to back it up 100% of the time.

I irrationally loathe Henrik Lundquist. HATE him.

I loathe Mike Modano. Not even sure why.

I still hate Fedorov - and it still makes me laugh to hear all of Detroit boo him even though I'm well aware it's totally immature and unnecessary. But at the moment my biggest irrational hate is for Boogaard. Don't beat up Hemsky dammit! Twice!

Boogie is a big teddy bear...off the ice. If you come to MN, you will learn to love him, mostly because he's the only even reasonably tough person on the team.

I suppose I could have gone with the obvious, FCP.

Honestly the only thing I base that hatred on, Kirsten, is him messing up Hemmer's shoulder twice in one season. I mean that's reasnoable right? Right? :P

(Ooooh I can't believe I forgot FCP though. Damn.)

Steph-I can roll with that.
I'm surprised that I was the first to mention FCP, too.

IPB still holds a deep-seated, irrational hatred of Ray Bourque. And we will never let up! NEVER!!! I think it's fair to say, though, that we no longer hate players irrationally. All of our considerable hate is cold-blooded, clear-eyed and utterly rational. Like Peter Forsberg. That's justified, people.

The CBJ have heard you pleas.

Damn it, Sean Avery was a good first choice. Hmm....does it have to be a current player? I'm not too fond of Ron Hextall, and I've got a nice Louisville Slugger with Darcy Tucker's name on it.
