A Ridiculously Good Looking Idea

Us Hloggers start...

...get this....

... an online HOCKEY LIBRARY.

It'd be sort of a big online hockey book swap, so that not everyone has to buy EVERY hockey book they want to read (says the girl who doesn't want to show her face buying "The Rookie" but wants to read it anyway.)

I think, in essence, what it'd need was a list of what books people had to swap (with the understanding that they may not see it again for.... at least a while), a list of postal addresses (media mail! hooray!) and a list of "want to read this".

Anyone else want in? (on the organization OR the actual swapping?) Or, does anyone ELSE have a good idea on how to put this together?

I'd do it but postage might be a bitch over here that you might as well buy it yourself. BUT I've got some perfectly good Deidre Martin duplicates I don't mind giving away...

I would do it but I'm terrible at finishing books. It's not that I'm a slow reader, it's that I get easily distracted. Too bad for you ladies because I have
The Boys of Winter", the Gretzky bio from back in the '90s, and "The Code" (which is one of the books that I started but haven't finished...it's just that good)

I think it's a good idea. You'd need to have a big database allowing you to sort by title, author, owner, location of the owner, etc. Then people could search for a title and see who has that book and lives nearby. It would save a lot on shipping. You'd need all the necessary disclaimers of course. I think looking at various "ride share" websites would give a good example of how to go about it.

Unfortunately the name "Pass the Puck" is already a website. Maybe Refer-Read (refereed)? I don't know. Better yet, Penalty Books? (Boox?)

I'm thinking "Drop That Puck!" or "Drop That Book!".....

I feel like I should be organizing a commitee.

(Suppose we could just be the Hlibrary)
