Good Morning Star Shine!

I think now is where I make my acceptance speech, "You love me, you really love me." Apparently I'm at that point in our relationship where I must introduce myself, answer some awesome questions and then cross my fingers that you accept me as one of your own. Then I'll wait (im)patiently for your love to start poring in. I promise I won't cry. I won't. :P

1. Where you're from, what you do - basic things.

I call the desert wasteland Phoenix home. It's a great place for sports, we have a team representing every major sport out there. Unfortunately, while we do have teams, not all of them are worth their weight. Let's take my Phoenix Coyotes, for example, we've had a rough few seasons... but you bad talk them and I may have to hurt you. As for me, I'm an addict... hockey being my drug of choice, Coyotes hockey in specific.

2. Your team and why you like them.

As I already stated (my bad), the Phoenix Coyotes are my heart and soul. I'll be perfectly honest and say that the reason I fell so hard for them was proximity. They are my home team and so it was that easy to just get tickets to see them live. After that, of course, they're my boys. They may have just ended their worst season ever but I love them still and I'm going to keep cheering for them and sticking up for them when no one thinks they have a chance. Go 'Yotes!!

3. Your least favourite team and why?

Every other team. I can't help myself, I'm pig-headed and stubborn and I refuse to like any other team except mine. If I am forced to get specific... I hate the Sharks. Don't get me wrong, some of the guys, I absolutely adore - Joe Thornton, Vesa Toskala and Milan Michalek to name a few - but as for the team, as a whole, I loathe San Jose. I also dislike Dallas, Vancouver and Detroit, mostly because they hand us our butts on platters every time we meet. :)

4. Your favourite player of all time & now?

Of all time, I have to go with Wayne Gretzky (I know, I'm predictable) because not only has he done wonderful things for hockey on and off the ice (as far as bringing in new fans; there's not too many people alive who haven't heard the name Wayne Gretzky) but he's Phoenix's head coach and so I'm representin' for my team 100%!!

5. If you had to punch one hockey player or member of the NHL organization, who and why?

Sean Avery, right in the chops, for repeatedly bashing my captain, for throwing that cheap shot at Doan after we beat the Kings this past season and for generally being a big weenie.

6 What you'll be looking forward in this group blog.

Networking with women who have more to say about hockey then "He's so cute!!" Don't get me wrong, you can say that too, I don't mind. I like looking at hot guys as much as the next girl, but I need a break every now and then to talk about the actual sport. I know, I know. The nerve. :)

7. What you don't like in general?

Bugs, clowns, the sound of people scratching their skin when they have long nails, girls at hockey games with signs that say something like "Alex Ovechkin, I will polish your stick anytime!" or "Ride me like a Zamboni, Sidney!" (Left that last one from the last girl who posted. Hilarious.)

8. What role do female fans play in keeping the game alive?

I think that female fans have a tendency to get more attached to a team than a male does so we are more prone to stick around even when a team stinks. Not only that but girls are usually more willing to force their girlfriends to go to games with them, a guy would go by himself before begging someone to go, so I think we contribute to bringing in more fans... even if we get them there by holding their past over their heads.

9. What role do female fans play in picking heroes for the community?

I think that female fans give more thought to who their heroes are. We normally pick a hero that does something more than just scoring (on or off the ice, if you catch my drift). Women usually (and notice I say usually) have more thoughts as to who benefits the most in more than one area.

10. Hockey just isn't the same without...

Coverage. Getting half of the games covered on TV sucks, I especially hate those "Radio Only" games... they drive me nuts. Even with Centre Ice, I still can't win.

11. If you were on a deserted island, which player would you pick to
stay with you?

I'm torn between whether I want someone super cute to spend the time with, someone strong and burly to protect me from the wild animals, someone smart and resourceful so that I don't die or someone who is funny to keep me occupied so I won't realize that I'm stranded on a freakin' desert island... I can't choose.

12. Crosby, Ovechkin or Phaneuf (hey he tried!)?

Based on what criteria? I like Crosby, well, aside from the fact that when he played us this year he made us look like the mini-mites that entertain us at half time... I'm not a huge fan of Ovechkin except that he seems like a fun guy off ice. Phaneuf. Oh Phaneuf. He's not as whored out by the media so I might just have to pick him to be different.

13. The player you'd like to take for a grand night out/a movie/a boring event?

Don't make fun of me but they'll probably all be Coyotes. Ha ha.

Grand night out: Shane Doan because he cleans up real nice in his suit and tie and I think I'd want to make a big statement. Not only that but he's such a doll and I absolutely adore him.

A movie: Mike Zigomanis. He's my personal favorite and I think this would be the safest bet for him because he's not a huge talker and you CAN'T talk during movies, how perfect?

A boring event: Keith Ballard because he's goofy and can crack me up the whole time.

14. If you could make your own team, regardless of whatever players, what would it be called and where will it be/how would it be like?

Pfft... I have absolutely no idea. But my team would obviously be winning Mr. Stanley every year.
