A life without hockey...

I am in hockey hell. No, I am in hockey-less hell.

After going through the most ridiculous apartment hunt I have ever been through (and this from a girl who has moved 13 times in 2 1/2 years) I finally found a place to live. Except, the cable company has turned my cable off and refuses to put it back on. That means no Versus, Center Ice, or any other possible hockey. And of course NBC has decided to bounce the first couple games of the friggin STANLEY CUP final so that you need to have Versus to view it (they are probably busy broadcasting professional bowling or something). I have been without hockey for almost three weeks and wont get cable back until I move into my new place this weekend.

Whats that you say? Go watch hockey at a sports bar? I would except that my Mom is in town helping me pack and flinches at the words: hockey, bar, hockey, beer, alcohol, hockey. I have been reduced to hitting "refresh" on ESPN.com over and over on game nights. And forcing friends to call me with play by plays.

I am in hockey-less hell.

I have been without cable for MONTHS and it is finally coming home to me tomorrow. FINALLY. I don't know if I'll be able to handle it.

In the meantime I'm here sharing your SCF-less pain....except who am I kidding I hardly even care. Damn you NHL and your crappy finals!

Of course, the three weeks that I didnt have hockey I was about 10X more productive at doing laundry, cleaning, etc then I have ever been.

Here's my pain.. i just got cable today, but HAVE NO TV.

Not to mention that I'll miss Hershey Bears playoffs LIVE this weekend because my cousin's getting married in montana. Gotta love family and their timing.

LOL, thats awful!

I am pissed I am missing the Bears too! But moving is so crazy that there is no way I am going to make it up there. If they go past five games and it comes back to Hershey, we should meet there.

That is the most terrible thing I've ever heard! (Okay, that might be a bit of hyperbole there, but you get what I mean...) And seriously, this so-called "productivity" of which you speak is for losers! When Pookie and I bought our first house we had to go a week before our satellite got hooked up, so we had this lovely TV and no reception of anything. It was bad enough to miss a week of regular-season hockey, but we missed the Superbowl, too. Instead we watched the complete James Bond library on DVD, and when everyone was talking about the Janet Jackson fiasco, I just had to shrug and say, "I was watching 'Diamonds Are Forever'."

I finally holed up at my parents' house where they get VS, since my apartment does not. I totally feel your pain. When I was working round the clock, the NHL.com radio links were very helpful. They get my wholehearted recommendation.

Would you like to live oceans away, serve customers at a grubby store and do time conversions everytime you look at the schedule. Everytime I slept someone would go "THAT WAS A GREAT GAME!"

How about a pizza place? No alchohol and they often have a television. That's what I did when my cable went out in the middle of a Sharks playoff game, a few seasons ago.
