Friday Five, Feb. 2

Happy Groundhog Day! In the spirit of the classic movie of the same name, I start our Friday Five:

  1. What would you do if you had to have one day over and over?
  2. What is one thing that makes you happy?
  3. What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?
  4. If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
  5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?
You know what to do...

Oooooh, first one! Yeah, baby. (Hey, it's the little things.)

1. What would you do if you had to have one day over and over?
Well, hopefully it would be a day on which my team decided to win...I'd sleep in, eat fattening foods, hang out with friends and family, and of course go to a hockey game.

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?
Aside from hockey? Making people laugh. It's one of those things that doesn't cost a thing but can brighten someone's day.

3.What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?
I made a copy paper box into a Barbie house once...yeah, I'm not that creative.

4.If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
That's a hard one - I have a yen for travel. I'm going to say the south of France.

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?
Oddly enough, it's not hockey - I can't ice skate and bruise like a peach. Let's go with bowling. :)

Ooo, I don't know what it is, but I love how we celebrate a "rat" coming out of a hole to see it's shadow...

1. Well, I would start the day w/ a big family breakfast, then I would spend the afternoon skiing. I would love to end the day w/ an exciting hockey game. But after going to the game over and over, eventually I would just bust into the locker room to meet the players...!

2. It's not very hard to make me happy, but I love it on days when everythings seems to be going right. Especially when I can enjoy it w/ friends.

3. Once when I was like 4, my dad and I made a big robot costume out a cardboard box. It even had large slinky arms and a mini flashlight for a nose.

4. I would love to go on these vacations that my family considered in Australia. They're basically hiking for the rich. You travel in a jeep all day, looking for animals. Then at night you stop at "cabins" w/ air conditioning and beds for the night. The only reason we didn't do it is because they cost about a thousand dollars a day.

5. I'd probably end up runnong cross country professionally. I'm not sure if they have teams, but that's the sport I'm best at. I'm the best on my team, and we ended the season undefeated. Of course, that wouldn't be as much fun to practice as hockey, all you do in XC is run in circles.

CapsChick: Bowling- Love it! I'm pretty much the same way.

1. What would you do if you had to have one day over and over?
Sleep in a little, read a good book, listen to some U2 while dancing like a loon, eat mashed potatoes, and spend a lot of time with the family.

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?
Having time to curl up on the couch with my favorite blanket and pillow and a good book.

3. What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?
I wrote a lot as a kid - short stories, "novels" (really long stories), poems.

4. If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
Scotland

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?
Baseball. I was pretty old before I quit telling people, with all seriousness, that I was going to play in the Major Leagues some day.

1. What would you do if you had to have one day over and over? I would have french toast for breakfast, turn the music up and dance around the house, speak Spanish, eat sushi, watch the best Flames game ever.
2. What is one thing that makes you happy? Chillin' at home with my hubby and pets, watching hockey and having good conversations.
3. What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child? I built a two-room fort out of branches and covered it in moss that I pulled up from the ground.
4. If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
Japan. I was there this past summer with limited money and it was great fun. I can only imagine how much cooler it would be with a tonne o'cash.
5.Which sport would you most like to play professionally? I would be a professional speller and win the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

I can't believe no one's said this yet. When we win the Stanley Cup! Either the Oilers or Habs. That way if we do win, the next day when it repeats I'll hop onto a plane and party! I'll go to HG (if it's the Oilers) and gloat. Or go to Keily if it's the Habs and gloat. ITS GONNA BE A GREAT REDAY!

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?
Sleep. A satisfying sleep. I LOOOOVE sleep.

3. What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?
To copy someone's answer I wrote a poem once in primary school and people stole it and put it on their project (a placemat for father's day) and I was sooooo mad. Additionally I didn't understand why spellchecker underlined "builded".

4. If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
Canada. Again. I wont deny it. Though I do like Europe as well. Italy would be GORGEOUS.

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?
Is asskissing a sport? I like Soccer. Soccer is a sport where many people cal look busy and do nothing :)

Slackin' on a Friday... But damn glad it is Friday...

1. Enjoy a perfect powder day in Vail. Then watch all the yard sales (when you lose your poles and your skis) on Pepe's Face (double black diamond) from Los Amigos (restaurant at the bottom of the mountain) while quenching my thirst with some brews. Afterwards, savor a delicious gourmet dinner and taste exquisite wines. End the day with a nice soak in the hottub and a steamy nightcap with my honey.

2. Good day on the mountain resulting in a Rocky Mountain high. (the natural kind)

3. Wrote a school winning short story.

4. Italy. Although if money is no option, I would come back needing bariatric surgery.

5. Free skiing

None of you said hockey for number 5. FOR SHAME.

1. Hockey
2. Hockey
3. Hmmm... I used to make up songs a lot.
4. France; it's a little cliché, but a month there could dramatically improve my French. There are other French-speaking countries though. I'd also like to see Morocco.
5. Hockey

1. the ahl all-star game, feb 2005.
2. camera catalogs are like porn to me. being able to buy things out of them makes me insanely happy.
3.i wrote a lot of stories. my mama still has them.
4. ireland and italy.
5. i'd much rather professionally photograph the sports being played, but if i must pick: football. awesome pants, great money, and a short playing season.

1. I must copy Jordi with the Stanley Cup win. Except it would be the Sharks, of course. And in my perfect world they would win at home and I would be in attendance. Oh, and to make it really perfect it would be a Saturday or Sunday so I would not have to live through teaching the same stuff over and over again.

2. Buying yarn. I could say knitting but I think the actual potential of what the yarn could be pleases me more than the actual knitting. (This would be why I'm often poor...this and compulsive book buying).

3. When I was about 9 we moved to a neighborhood still in the process of being built. As a result there were huge sand piles everywhere. We would dampen the sand and build amazing Barbie estates...and then when the estate was done I would get bored and leave (which angered my sister greatly).

4. France

5. Well, I must say hockey, especially since I really dislike other sports.

1. What would you do if you had to have one day over and over?
I'd probably go insane and eventually go on some kind of shooting spree. I have a short attention span as it is.

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?
Alcohol. The cause of, and solution to all of life's problems. I'm working on blasted right now.

3. What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?
I was a highly imaginative child. I wrote stories mainly, and I loved to play with dolls. This was also when I wanted to marry a hockey player and have 8 children (6 boys, 2 girls) who I had already chosen names for. So yeah. Childhood sucks.

4. If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
I'd hit up Mexico again. Spend a month wasted out of my mind, and lounge on the beach during the day. Paradise I tell you.

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?
I'm a violent bitch who likes it rough, so I'd be in the UFC if they let women fight...

1. Hang with friends, see live hockey/play. eat good food, be with my family, take photos, sew, read good slash!.
2. Making people smile. That makes me happy. Sewing makes me happy too. So does good slash *giggle*.
3. I made lots of things, created plays, dressed up constantly, imaginary friends.
4. Probably to canada and the us. I'd got to Philly, Atlanta, Boston, Toronto, Bathurst, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, and Just outside Everett! I'd visit all my online friends (I'd take my melbourne hockey girl, lyndelle with me).
5. Either hockey, or figure skating. I love figure skating so so much. Ice and grace and beautiful costumes. I'd love to be a cheerleader though.

1. What would you do if you had to have one day over and over?

Well it would have to be a day in which my team played and hopefully my fav guy scored (in the game & out of the game with me). Other than that, I would probably hang with Charity & Chrissy.

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?

Hockey...other than that I love to laugh.

3.What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?

My cousin's & I use to play dress up and we prentended to have a bar called the Juke Box and I was Jennie Garth. LOL

4.If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?

I would probably take a trip around the world.

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?

Duh...hockey

I would spend some time with friends, read a book, and, of course, go to a hockey game

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?
Sports, in general. Specifically hockey and football, but really, if it is sports, I'm generally happy.

3.What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?
My sister and I used to make up "dances" for our parents... it was basically us running and jumping around our living room with the occasional cartwheel or something like that thrown in.

4.If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
I would backpack from Athens to St. Petersburg.

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?
Based on my talent? Bowling -- everything else involves skill and balance, two things I really don't have.
Any sport? Hockey and/or football

1. What would you do if you had to have one day over and over?
A day where I could sleep in, listen to music while reading a book while riding the bus/subway to meet friends. We would have coffee and lunch just hanging out. Afterwards, we'd go check out museums or galleries and then we'd go catch a hockey game of course. Preferably one where my boys win the cup. Afterwards we'd somehow spontaneously meet them and we'd take pictures. The night would end just hanging out with friends at home over drinks and giggles. Or, if it's not too cold outside, to take a quiet walk outside and be amazed by how quiet it is and how you can actually see the stars.

Wow that was really long.

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?
Haha, instead of saying the obvious of 'hockey' I'll say days when it rains or snows when I can hang out with my friends inside our house and I can take silly pictures and we make one another laugh until our sides hurt and we watch CSI: Miami marathons on A&E and make fun of how David Caruso talks.

3. What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?
Oh too much. I still have one of the weirdest imaginations ever. I used to invent whole universes that existed in our current one and I was the only one who could see and travel in between them. I wrote a bunch of stories and poems as a kid as well. Still do. Shush, I was a bit of a nerd okay? [was?]

4. If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?
I would do a big European trip. I love European culture and history and how it is so different from nation to nation. Or I'd travel to all corners of Canada. I love this country yet haven't seen enough of it.

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?
Interestingly enough not hockey since professional women's hockey just isn't where it should be right now. I'd love to be a figure skater. Isn't that every little girl's dream?

2. What is one thing that makes you happy?

friends. :HUGS:

3.What is the most imaginative thing you ever did as a child?

tried to sing, cuz you know... that takes up some imagination to actually THINK I can.

4.If you could take a one-month trip anywhere in the world and money were not a consideration, where would you go?

Canada. Please, where else?

5. Which sport would you most like to play professionally?

Swim, water polo, ice dancing/skating, or diving... like, off a platform for the olympics, not diving like I'm faking an injury... ahhaha
