Radio Rockstar - Senators Edition

You know, when you do anything that involves hockey and music, I get all unnecessarily excited and invested. That is a bad idea when I'm in the middle of Finals. Thanks a lot, Jordi!

AQuietGirl has already done such a great job compiling the Playlist of Awesomeness that best represents the Senators, and it's great to see that my fellow Sens blogger has such excellent taste in music. I'd like to add the following tracks for your consideration as well. Click on the links for a YouTube or sample of the song in question.

1. "Good Times Gonna Come" - Aqualung: This is a bit of a softer selection, but heck, the lyrics certainly reflect how UNNECESSARILY INVESTED I get in my boys:

2. "Hysteria" - Muse: Hockey is a heavy, rocking out sport. And frankly no rocking out sport playlist is complete without a little bit of Muse. I'd say the lyrics in the song hit a little too close to home at times:

3. "Slow Hands" - Interpol: The somewhat emo and self-depricating lyrics can be very applicable to the boys at times. Although with all of that scoring I don't know if their hands are particularly "slow". Think of it as being ironic if you will. Or, it can apply to Gerber.

4. "Miss Murder" - AFI: To be honest, I stole this from Sportsnet. They did a music video with a bunch of highlights to this song and I thought it was very well done. I actually don't like AFI at all but this song isn't terrible. I suppose the lyrics can be applicable to some people that left the team or something. Like...I don't know, Chara?

5. "Rock the Casbah" - The Clash: Just 'cause.

Honourable Mention: "Bad Boyfriend" - Garbage
You know, I never realized how dirty this song was until I read the lyrics, which is why I'm not posting it, but heck it's an awesome song.
