I have to answer last week's question before we move on to a new one.
If your team were a person what would he/she be like? (Draw/Describe/fantasize)
If the Sabres were a guy he would be cute but not overwhelmingly handsome. He wouldn't be that guy who takes your breath away as soon as he walks in the room. He *would* be that guy who seems to get more and more adorable the more time you spend with him with his comfortable, casual clothing and his slightly unkempt dark red hair. He would be slightly undersized and he would have a bit of a chip on his shoulder about it. He would totally be willing to get his ass kicked by someone twice his size just to make a point. He would be strictly blue-collar and probably work with his hands somehow - auto mechanic, carpenter, landscaper, something like that. He'd be very good at it and he'd work hard, taking a lot of pride in his work. He'd have a very sharp sense of humor and be pretty friendly. He might occasionally get on your nerves, but he'd be so charming the rest of the time that you could usually deal with it. He'd realize he wasn't perfect but overall be pretty comfortable in his own skin.
Actually, you know what? In a lot of ways, you can think Ewan McGregor:
I wonder who I'd talk to about the guys playing a game in kilts...

If the Sabres were Scottish...

Ewan Mcgregor? Really? I imagined a guy far greater. Like I dunno. But he works. He works.
I was using Ewan mostly for looks and personality - cute but not handsome, a little on the small side, a bit mischevious. Of course I also just haven't quite adjusted to people outside of Buffalo looking at the Sabres and seeing a great team. Even last season it seemed like most people were caught off guard, more of a "who are these guys?" attitude. This league wide appreciation thing is still a new thing for us :-)
