This is a million sorts of random, but I've been thinking about it for a couple weeks ever since I made a compilation post of mic'd up hockey players singing (badly). I've been praising the sound box guys at the Joe at every game I've been to this season for their top notch choices of when to play particular songs, but I have to admit my favorite is when they find (and proceed to abuse) player-specific clips.
For example every time Robert Lang scores a goal in Detroit this season there's been a rousing chorus of The Chiffons' "He's So Fine" (for the do-lang-do-lang background lines which okay fine I giggle over a little bit there, I admitted it!). I know the New York Rangers have several of these, most notably and amusingly (to me at least since he's probably the only Ranger I follow with any sort of continuity and, well, come on...) "Dschingis Khan" whenever Prucha nabs one (the rationale from what I gather being that the "Hoo! Ha!" sounds like "Pru-cha!").
Anyway most of them are either really clever or at least stupidly entertaining - so how about all your teams, ladies - I'm sure there are more than just these couple right? What's everyone hearing this season?
