As you might have heard by now, CTVGlobeMedia has purchased the rights to 'The Hockey Theme' previously known as the Hockey Night in Canada Theme. You know, the one that goes "Dunta-dunt-dunta!". The theme will be used before NHL games on TSN and RDS as well as CTV's hockey coverage during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
I just saw SportsCentre on TSN lead off with the themes set to some hockey highlights. I have to admit, it felt a bit wrong as I was expecting the HNiC logo to flash across the screen but to no avail. I posted about it previously on Scarlett Ice stating that I would miss it on CBC, but it wouldn't deter me from watching HNiC (the amount of Leafs games probably would). Seeing it in practice. Well, let's just say it takes some getting used to. At least we have the whole entire off-season to get used to the idea.

OMG, I think I just died a little bit, or at least my soul did.
Now instead of Dunta-dun-dut-ta it can be "Darren-Dutch-ysen! James Duffey, Dave Hodge tooooo!..."
"...Pierre Mcguire loves Koi-vuuu! Dun-na-na-Darrrr-ren-Dreger-smells SportsDesk can go to hell, too!"
