Ice Girls

Much love goes to the Boston Bruins for today's tidbit. Maybe it's just me but doesn't this..

Candidates must be 18 years of age and do not need to know how to skate to become a member of the Ice Girls.

make the concept of being an "Ice Girl" seem a little bit redundant?

On that front, i've been sorta passively waiting for Hershey to develop an ice girl program. I can skate, I know damn well I can dance, so the only reason they'd have to reject me is being short and pudgy. Do I smell discrimination, anyone?

I have one reaction when I see Ice Girls, and its usually violent.

I'm used to them already since we were the first ones to put skates on em. :P

I guess they'll be offering "on the job training?"

Being a hockey blog full of ladies, I'm assuming most of us have similar ideas about the ice girls.

It is sorta funny when they fall, though.

No No NOOOO! I hate the idea of hockey cheerleaders. Go find some brain cells and stop reinforcing the female stereotype!!!

Can I stop holding back now?

I'm pretty sure that for the Dallas Stars, at least, the girls have to pass a hockey test. As in, they have to know at least a little bit about the sport. This reassures me slightly, but I still hate them a lot. Ours have started dancing (horribly). I could do better than that, but I would never be accepted, because I actually eat real food.

KMS2... no, but I saw it once at an Islander game. The Isle's fans laughed at her, too! lol
