Holy freakin' crap

Did the NHL listen to us?

Is this possible?

Is it actually...not pink?

That's right ladies, for just 70 big ones you can have your very own women's jersey. It is fitted for a female shape, not heinous and pink, devoid of any obvious rhinestones or glitter, and is sadly lacking in customization. It is, of course, made of the Brand Spanking New Omg I Must Have It Now wonderful material of the new millennium, but that is to be expected. The ditty on the page mentions the word 'cute' and 'accenuating your shape', which I will manfully (womanfully?) ignore in the face of the absence of sparkles.

Is this a good thing? Does that mean that the NHL is trying to take steps to bring in more fans of the double X chromosome persuasion? Could this in fact be some sick plot by the male leaders of the hockey world to just pat us on the head while still thinking we all come to try to get into players' shorts (and if they're the Washington Capitals it might not be that hard, considering that they were slit up the thigh. Flashy, boys!) or are forced there by our hockey-devoted boyfriends/husbands?

Thoughts, ladies?

I don't think the fact that they use the standard to-be-expected design technique of having both men and women's versions of a jersey excuses them from their stupid, pink, ideas.

As for the Edge jerseys, I'm not impressed.

I'm not sure anything can make up for the pinkness that we have to endure.

I'm trying really hard to like them, because really, there's no choice, but...well...they look silly, they rip like paper (according to the players), and while they might be going for the 'less is more' approach to design, they still look like practice jerseys, for the most part.

See, I want proof that it doesn't bunch over your ass before I buy one, because that's my biggest gripe with wearing a mens' jersey.....

Teka: It's supposed to be fitted for a woman's body...so it hugs the curves and shapes the bootay? I am not sure.

As long as it doesn't enhance my homegrown Sidney Crosby butt (tm) TOO much more....

I think i'm the only one that likes the pinkness. I kinda love them because of how retardly kitsche they are.

I can also get away with them over here because even the semi-pro team i work for know i know more about the nhl than they do so i'd never be a "puck"

I'm just like OMG THEY"RE PINK. AND SPARKLY.I suck.

I just read the product description...

NO FREAKING WAY. screen printed graphics??? I want mine crested thank you very much. UGH.

Teka: Hey now, we all love the junk Sidney's hauling back there. Be proud of the trunk!

Sasky: Being in such a hockey deprived area you could probably get away with it, whereas here there is the stigma attached to it.

Rinslet: Yeah, that does suck. What's wrong with just making a regular 'ol sweater that is just shaped a bit different? Or even just not as giantic, I'd settle for that.

I think they plan on screen-printing all replic jersey's, aren't they? Which means to get the real deal you'd need to buy an original, fight strap and all... for like 300 dollars. Tell me that's not the truth.

As for the women's jersey's, I'm indifferent. I like my (old style) men's small/mediums just fine. They fit me nice!

Sasky: I LOVE pink! I just would hate to go to a hockey game in one! lol

Fuck this, you got me all excited for nothing.

kerriberry: The logos on the "premiere" (aka replica) jerseys are still crested (I think.. pretty sure) and the lettering (aka the player names) I think are half screenprinted? I don't know...

I know the logo is crested.
