Canucks release new sweaters
They're not as painful as I was expecting, but they're not wonderful either.
I like the fact that they're going back to the blue and green as predominant colors, and I REALLY like the fact that they kept the whale, but I think putting the big "VANCOUVER" over it is a really "DUH" move. Especially seeing as how the Orca is a very northwest thing, and there's ONLY ONE HOCKEY TEAM IN THE ENTIRE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AREA *grumble grumble*
I also appreciate that they didn't say "Well, we've got new seams to play with in this new style of jersey, so let's put as many random color patches on it as we can!" So many of the OTHER teams have done that, and it's a little obnoxious.
I also think that while Luongo's third helmet was a great third helmet, he needs a new primary helmet, as it's gonna get boring looking at the woodgrained one for an entire season. May I suggest a lovely Johnny Canuck pattern, as he didn't get on the jersey?

I don't like 'em. I don't hate 'em. They're not the worst I've ever seen but I still don't like 'em.
The text is over the top. It looks cluttered rather than something smooth and neat. Are they worried that their teammates might pass to the wrong team?
Quite lame. Classic =/= good.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that the "c" and "a" players' jersey will look cluttered with the VANCOUVER there. Otherwise, it's not my favorite, but it's not something I'm slitting my wrists over.
After staring at it for a while, it already grew on me >:D ( I think Willie modelling it had something do with it :D ).

Other players come out: Tho that Vancouver on the top will take some getting used to
Goes home and stares at the jersey some more: OH WILLIE! :D I love the jersey already.

hurhur Once my 2nd paycheck comes, I'll probably grab myself one of thsoe away/white jerseys. *_*!!!
As for the Vancouver over the top, I believe they said it's more of a homage to the past teams (Millionaires [and the vancouver on the V] and the original WHL team [with Canucks curved on top of the jersey number in front] , etc)...
But yah. my only real problem is the C and A jerseys.
