Woman on the Stanley Cup

I found this interesting...there are TEN woman have their name on the Stanley Cup.

Ten women have had their names engraved on the Stanley Cup.[42] The Senior Director of Hockey Administration Charlotte Grahame's name was added in 2001 when the Colorado Avalanche won. (Charlotte's son John later had his name engraved as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning, making them the only mother-son combination to win the Stanley Cup.

Pretty neat eh?!

Bethany, I just read that today so it's weird that you posted it. (I was trying to figure out what the criteria are for goalies getting on the Cup.) I especially like the mother-son fact - that's very cool!

Did you mention that over at Schnookie/Pookie's? Someone did and that's why I was looking for it. Back when Marty was on the team we were trying to figure out what he had to do to get on the Cup and I'm pretty sure he didn't have to actually play in the Finals, but I never did find it again today.

No, I didn't mention it over there...I read it over at Cassie's blog...so I was trying to figure it out. I never found anything out either.

John Grahame was this year's backup goalie for the Carolina Hurricane's and he's a real sweetie.

I think one of the NBC announcers was talking about what you had to do to get on the cup during the last game. Something like play 40 regular season games on the team or X number of playoff games...

That's cool though that girls are represented on the best trophy in sports : )

You know girls rock harder when they are able to get on a trophy in an all-man world! Girl power and all that other junk... lol

Awesome, not something that would normally be thought of at Cup time.
