We are all NHL!

Boston Bruins
Carolina Hurricanes
Columbus Blue Jackets
Edmonton Oilers
Florida Panthers
L.A. Kings
St. Louis Blues

These 7 teams are the first to relaunch their official websites under the NHL's more streamlined layout design, mostly modeled after the NHL's official website. If your team hasn't gone through its makeover yet, you can probably expect a redesign before the new season begins. As for the Vancouver Canucks, it looks like our redesign will occur sometime in July (according to a forum admin).

I don't know whether I like this new style yet or not. It feels like most websites would lose a bit of their individuality since all the team sites now look the same--minus the team colors. I also don't like how the photos are stored and presented using Flash. If you've visited Canucks.com before, you'd notice that all the pictures can be saved as they're not in a Flash slideshow, and most Canucks fans, especially those who enjoy making graphics, or those who just like keeping those photos, really liked this feature.

You may also notice that most teams, especially those with already existing message boards, may have switched to Invision Boards for their forums. Personally, I love the Invision boards. It has a lot of fun features to play around with, i.e. posting comments on member profiles, and it's great on a very active forum. Love the multi-quoting, quick edit, quick reply options, too. The previous board software Canucks forum were using did not have any of those.

Hate the flash photos. The Sabres website is already like that and it's super annoying.

I hate the flash photos but the oilers website always adopted that. But then again their photos always sucked ass so it's not much of a loss.

The Sabres have always had the flash photos as well, but their photographer is good so there were often some good shots. Pain in the butt to figure out how to save them. The rest of the site could use a serious re-design though some I'm interested in seeing the final product.

They switched over yesterday, so you should go check it out. :) I think it's an improvement on the old site but, as you said, the old site was in need of redesigning. I'm not sure what I think of the new site independent of the old. I just keep comparing things that are different.

The old Kings website was pretty bad so I am very happy with the upgrade.

XD Not all. Other than Canucks forum (which I'm an active member), the only other team forum I post in (tho rarely) is the Flames forum. I lurk around Oilers, LA Kings (tho letsgokings is not official, just linked) forums... and sometimes (not as often as Oil and Kings) I visit Sabres, Leafs, Avalanche, Ducks, Stars, Blues... etc.

I didn't even notice that Sabres already did the redesign. I would have included them in the list. O_O Then again, I wrote that at 2 am so my mind wasn't functioning properly. XD

Oilers is pretty shoddy, the Habs one is so insane that everyone posts the same thing thirty times. The ducks one. Wow. It was the shittiest official forum I ever saw.

To get around the flash photos issues, you can just take a screenshot (The Print Screen button in the corner of your keyboard if you have a PC) and copy the picture into paint, then crop it to what you want. Thats what I always do with the sabres site...(both new and old).
