Everyone Wants to be a Penguin

So much so that we got guys scoring goals for us left and right regardless of what jersey they're wearing.

If you missed it yesterday, Nicklas Backstrom scored a goal for the Penguins admist a haze of confusion around the Capitals net.

Apart from the goal itself, there where a few things that made this moment priceless:

1. The look on Backstrom's face. It's straight out of a Mastercard "Scoring a goal on your own net - priceless" commercial.

2. Ovechkin's reaction. In his usual dramatic fashion, Ovie drops to his knees and buries his head in his hands on the ice. Poor kid - all that money and they can't get him a forward that knows which way the play is going! Huet follows suit with his reaction as well.

3. Crosby's reaction. At first glance it looks like Sid is celebrating in his usual fashion. But as the hockey gods would have it, the game was on NBC and Sid was the "sounds from the game" player. You hear him go "Did he shot that in his own net? He shot that in his own net!" What you don't hear is the "What a dumb $*$%!" that follows.

This rivalry just got so much better... : )

Sid's voice went up like two octaves when he was yelling that. Hilarious.

That's why you don't put offensive players in front of the net to defend.

They see puck first. Then they see goal.

GOALZ GOALZ TAPZ IT IIINNN YEAH I WIN

Ovie on the ice crying: WHY DID I SELECT YOU IN THE 2006 DRAFT WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
