Human After All

How’d you do in round one predictions Ellie? Not too shabby. Definitely didn’t see the Rangers coming. I’m mean my boy Jags has been on top of his game as of late, but still – who would have thought Atlanta wouldn’t get a single win in? I think the Rangers probably screwed up more than one playoff pool, mine included.

Didn’t see my team not showing up either. Every game was the same – let’s give Ottawa the puck and let them swarm our net until it finally goes it. Let’s forget how to shoot when we finally get the puck. Let’s see how many acrobatics Marc Andre can do during in a ten second stretch. Penalties? We were attracting them like flies to horse poo. This picture says all that needs to be said about last Thursday evening:

(In the voice of Lewis Black) "This blows"

Most of my frustration came from the fact that it was a crappy end to a spectacular season. But we’ll be back. No worries. We’re young and learning. We’ve got a good bit of wiggle room on the roster next season and good things could come of a summer of contracts. So hakuna matta : )

As for the other series go – no shocker the Isles are out – just as soon as they got in. I was bummed to see Tampa leave, but not too surprised. Stars and Canucks had me guessing down to the wire. Everything else was pretty standard (except Nashville, maybe?).

A little Crosby news – he apparently played with a broken foot for a month straight and was honored the other night as Pittsburgh’s “Dapper Dan Sportsman of the Year”. Words out of his mouth during his acceptance speech included: “Hopefully we can bring you, the fans, a Stanley Cup”. Looking forward to it Sid – it’s been a while…

Best of luck to you lovelies with teams still in it. I’m spreading my good intentions between two other animals, one of feathers and the other of the sea…

Hear hear! It would have been nice to see the Pens play like they were capable of doing all season. I guess next year?

All Pens fans can say is "we're young and learning", "we've got a great future ahead of us". Fact is, the team didn't show up, lack of experience it's hardly an excuse. And you can take solace in that they'll be back in the hunt again, but it's a very disappointing end.

I'll take an unpopular opinion here and say they were wildly outcoached. They didn't play very well, but Therrien was doing nothing to fix it. Murray was doing everything right with match ups, special teams, etc. Therrien never made a counter move.

So sad, I was hoping the Sabres would get the chance of beating them in the Conference Finals.

yeah i wanted to play the sabres too : (

and i agree margee that some blame does need to go on Therrien's shoulder's. for as annoying as Murray is, he was doing a decent job.
